Critical Race Theory shoved on students in public schools

The Biden Administration has publish and proposed “Rule” to provide grants on incorporating Critical Race theory into the history and civic curriculum for public schools . This proposed Rule was published in the Federal Register on April 19 th. Citizens can respond with comments to this proposed ruleuntil May 19, 2021. You must use the on-line Federal eRulemaking Portal at (www.regulations.gov) or send written comments by U.S. postal mail to be part of the record. E-mails or faxes are not acceptable. Be sure to Include the docket number: Docket ID ED-2021-OESE-0033 at the top of your comments. See attached Federal Register notice. This issue came to my attention in reading the Thursday April 22, 2021 Washington Times. The article “Biden proposes grants to teach critical race theory—Funding also supports inaccurate 1619 Project”. I urge you to read this article and oppose “critical race theory” one-sided approaches to teaching American history and civics The Biden Administration is proposing grants to develop Presidential Academies for the teaching of American History and Civics for teachers and Congressional Academies for high school students to “better understand these issues”. The stated purpose of this program is to promote new and existing evidence-based strategies to encourage INNOVATIVE American history, civics and government, and geography instruction, learning strategies, activities, and programs for teachers, principals, or other school leaders ,particularly such instruction, etc. that benefit low-income students and underserved populations. This proposed program is to develop history in accord with the New York Times 1619 Project and to incorporate anti-racist practices into teaching and learning. The rule specifically refers to Ibram X. Kendi’s teachings. Professor Kendi is a pioneer in critical race theory according to the Washington Times article. Once developed it is highly-likely that the Biden Administration will impose it on all schools as required curriculum. The Federal Register states that the Proposed Priority 1 – for evaluating projects is: Projects that incorporate racially, ethnically, culturally, and linquistically-diverse perspectives into teaching and learning. These practices are to contribute to what is called an “identity-safe” learning environment.
