Maryland’s General Assembly made sure that Maryland’s priorities remain intact:
Maryland residents through their state legislators decided to give cash tax refunds to undocumented illegal immigrants who file taxes without using a Social Security number.
After 50 years of trying to remove Democrats managed to remove “Maryland My Maryland by James Randall in 1861 and named as the State poem in 1939. Now- the Democrats deemed the poem “racist”.
Democrats in Maryland passed the law that mandates planting 5 million trees in the state in the next 10 years.
As a part of Criminal Justice reform, Marylanders decided to remove parole decisions from the Governor, and ban for-profit immigration detention centers and repealed a nearly half-century-old police officers’ bill of rights, among other things, ended life-without-parole sentences for juvenile offenders, and allowing people who have been wrongfully convicted an opportunity to sue the State.
House Speaker Adrienne A. Jones (D-Baltimore County), convinced the lawmakers to pass a bill to pay nearly $600 million to Maryland’s historically Black colleges and universities.
To ensure that Maryland remains Sanctuary State the legislature passed the bill that limits how state and local police may cooperate with immigration authorities over the objections and veto by Governor Larry Hogan.
